PLEASE NOTE:  The Waste Transfer Site will be closed on all provincial holidays and the WTS schedule may change for that week only (see below * for details).

There will be designated pick up days for designated areas (noted below) on a weekly basis (once every week).  Please have your garbage out before 7:00 am on your designated day or the night before (must be kept safe from animals or weather).  Place it at the end of your driveway (closest to the road but not on it for ease of pick up).  If your garbage is not out at that time, it will be assumed that you do not have garbage that week and it will be your responsibility to bring it to the Waste Transfer Site during regular business hours (see WTS rules and regulations below).

MONDAYS *             will be the designated day for residents that live on St. Laurent Veterans Memorial Rd and going west to the beach areas, including the strip of Hwy 6 S to Laurentia Beach, as well as residents on Lake Francis Rd .

WEDNESDAYS *     will be the designated day for all other residents of St. Laurent, residents of Oak Point, and Johnson Beach.

*  When Monday is a statutory holiday, garbage pick-up will change to Tuesday and Thursday for that week only.  So the schedule will change to: CLOSED Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday and OPEN Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

*  When Wednesday is a statutory holiday, garbage pick-up will be Monday and Thursday for that week only.  So the schedule will change to: CLOSED Tuesday,

*  If you are within the boundary of our municipality, you will receive garbage pick-up on your designated day.

Please adhere to the following policies:

  • There is a limit of 2 bags of household garbage and 2 bags of recyclables for each household per pick up.  Any additional bags will have to be brought to the WTS during regular hours.

  • You are still required to separate your garbage and recyclables.  Recyclables must be in clear (see through) bags so that they can be inspected and sorted by the employees.  Note: it is not necessary to sort your recyclables; you can place all recyclables in the same bag.  It is expected that they be rinsed out/cleaned (cans, jars, milk jugs, etc.) to eliminate mold or odors.

  • You will be responsible to ensure that when your garbage is put out for collection, that it is safe from animals, weather conditions, and other factors to prevent it from being torn and spread throughout the area.  If this occurs, it is not the responsibility of the WTS employee to clean it up. If not cleaned up, you could be subject to fines and/or charges.  Some ideas to keep your garbage safe are to have a garbage bin with lid that closes tight, build a box with hinged lid for access or re-use items that have a secure lid.  (Feel free to be creative and dress up your item to keep our community looking great!)

  • Once garbage/recycling have been picked up, it is up to you to remove your bins if not permanently in place (i.e.: an empty garbage bin).

  • DO NOT put out large items or hazardous waste for collection (i.e. furniture, doors, appliances, construction materials, used oil/paint/chemicals and containers) as they will not be picked up.  It remains your responsibility to bring these items directly to the WTS.

**We will need your continued cooperation to ensure a timely schedule for pick up, and to keep our ditches, roads and fields clean of litter.
